Welcome to the forum Josh. That loco in your pic looks very similar to Pacifics back in England. Battle of Britain pacifics on the old Southern. Where was it built, over here or over there ?

Thanks George, It's a pleasure for me to be here, Hopefully I can be a good help to show you some great Australian MSTS routes and rollingstock that I can be happy to share with you guys here. I'd uploaded about 3 to 4 pics of the MSTS NSWGR 38 class so far and also a Putfile clip as well. The locomotive was build here in Australia. At the Eveleigh Railway Workshops in Sydney. Shes the famous locomotive as the Flying Scotsman is. And 3801 is a Pacific Type Loco as well. Thanks for asking me that question Salma

It's not that expensive here, well It was expensive when it first came out, but it's only about AU$45.00 to AU$40.00. at lease whenever you do get it George, Believe me it's all good to use. i download the update patches for it everytime, even the newroads and Xtrack updates.

So what are the pro's and cons when we pitch MSTS vs Trainz Josh?
I have been a user of MSFS (Flight Sim) for quite some years from the days when people had black and green text type screens to the present day and Microsoft still haven't got it right!! Thats at least 5 versions in 10 or so years, and you can hardly say that Microsoft haven't got the resource to turn out a far better product. But they never do, and never have - even for the software product you are probably using to read this!!
Auran Trainz on the other hand is a comparatively small "Aussie" company (lol), and the first viewing of the 2006 product I would say they possibly have it right. (I was a bit limited as I had an illegal copy and therefore couldn't download all of the add-on's!) But that has prompted me to go out and buy the official product.
When Microsoft can build something properly the first time, perhaps I'd buy it!!
Sorry Josh, but you might have detected that I am very "Anti-Microshaft", but that only comes with years of experience in the computer industry!!

G'day basherz I like TRS2006 as well as MSTS mate. In honesty I don't have TRS2006 but i heard and saw it's good, but I do have TRS2004 that was given to me as a Birthday Gift. But I'm mostly into MSTS since i'd learned from that heaps by my mother's ex-boyfriend, even showed me how to build consists, Edit routes, and so on. ;D With TRS2004 I got, I do make layouts and Routes, But It's a big tricky to build sceneries and objects on there . But I am slowly getting use to it. I've got nothing wrong with MSTS or Trainz at all. Since they are a great programs. SO i don't really have a better side on that whatsoever.

As I understand it, Surveyor mode in Trainz2004 isnt as good as that of 2006. I guess it just takes "getting used to" whatever version you have, like most things in life! I haven't got MSTS so I can't tell what the dfferences are. I am sure though that the supplied routes in MSTS are adequate but not, apparently, accurate.
